Berkeley Marina has been transformed with $50 million in completed and ongoing improvements, creating a more polished, secure, and modern homeport on the Bay. Slipholders enjoy free parking, overnight security and cameras, and immediate access to dining, coffee, a hotel, parks, recreation, shopping, and the boat yard—all just steps from the dock—along with stunning views of the bay, skyline, and bridges.
New boaters enjoy 2 months free and a $75 gift card to a Berkeley Waterfront business, walkable from your new slip.
The all-new D & E Docks mark a major upgrade at Berkeley Marina, offering a more refined, secure, and dependable homeport on the Bay. Featuring brand-new concrete docks, upgraded utilities, improved accessibility, enhanced security, and freshly dredged berths with 30A and 50A shore power at every slip, these rebuilt docks are designed for modern boating. Slip sizes range from 35' and 40' to 46'–94', with 8.5' at average low tide, providing flexible accommodations for a wide range of vessels.
Six boater-only restrooms encircling our harbor have been renovated with fresh fixtures and finishes, gated entrances, and improved shower rooms. Restrooms are cleaned and restocked daily, and are conveniently located next to the dock entrances throughout the Marina.
The transformation begins the moment you leave I-80. Berkeley Marina’s $8 million Marina Streets Project has created a smoother, more welcoming approach with newly paved roads, fresh curbs and gutters, upgraded roundabouts, landscaping, a new welcome sign, added security measures, and eco-friendly pervious parking for slipholders and visitors. University Avenue has also been realigned to the north, improving traffic flow while opening up broader views of the Bay and creating space for future Waterfront park improvements. Together, these roadway upgrades create a cleaner, safer, and more polished arrival experience from the first turn into the Marina area.
The San Francisco Bay Trail’s newest addition in Berkeley is an extra wide promenade with benches, drinking fountains, wide bike and pedestrian paths, new public restrooms, a rinse off shower, a new parking lot, landscaping, and an expanse of green turf for watersports rigging and rinsing. Ten new bicycle lockers are located across the street by the bus stop. The improvements provide true placemaking at the sailing clubs and small boat docks in the South Sailing Basin.
The South Sailing Basin is home to a brand new ADA-compliant aluminum gangway, and two new aluminum docks. Nearly 40 finger docks have been rehabilitated or replaced throughout the Marina, and over 800 new cleats have been installed marina-wide. Gangways have been repainted, and main walkways have been stabilized. F & G Dock has been redecked. Safety ladders have been added throughout the Marina harbor and South Cove.
