Slip holders at Berkeley Marina may start as neighbors, but they become family. The Marina community is a hotbed of activity for the outdoors person. We’re surrounded by over 100 acres of parks, seven miles of leisure trails, cozy picnicking spots and bird watching opportunities, making us a destination for those who prefer to stay on land, too. Don’t forget to bring the furriest family member, as our 17-acre off-leash green space is a picturesque open area to let your dog stretch their legs.
Feel the wind in your hair on and off the boat in our stunning park spaces. Let your kids—and their imagination—run wild at the Adventure Playground, where they can build and create as they please. After the kids are worn out, grab a kite and take a leisurely stroll through the incredible 90-acre Cesar Chavez Park, which shines with views of wetlands, the shoreline, a wildlife sanctuary, a 17-acre Off-Leash-Dog-Area, and more. If you want to pick up the pace, we invite you to check out the San Francisco Bay Trail. Bring your bicycle or jogging shoes and get a full view of our city’s natural beauty. Don’t forget a blanket before stopping at Horseshoe Park, because you’ll want to sit and take in the shoreline and marina from this quiet park. Finally, don’t miss Shorebird Park. You can set the kids loose here with an accessible playground, picnicking spots and hiking trails.
After a long day of boating, playing and enjoying the unbelievable views Berkeley Marina has to offer, you’re bound to be hungry. Sit down for a meal, you’re sure to run into some of your neighbors and meet a few new friends. Not yet tired of the water? At Skates on the Bay, you can find your land legs without giving up a view of the bay; we recommend watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand. Turn up the heat at Hana Japan, where you can sample fresh seafood and vegetables cooked teppanyaki style. Finally, stop at the perfectly Instagrammable Bay Grille and Bar at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, offering diners a view of the Golden Gate.
Members of the business community here at Berkeley Marina feel like they’re always on vacation. Fuel up, tinker on your boat or daydream about your future yacht at Berkeley Marine Center. Ready to relax? Find all you need for mooching, trolling, and of course, beverages and snacks at the Berkeley Marina Bait and Tackle Shop. Crave a casual cup of coffee? The Cafe at Doubletree offers espresso, snacks and sundries. If you want to explore the surrounding bay area, Tideline will give you a completely new view of Berkeley on one of its ferries and enables you to commute around San Francisco or take a ride to a Giants game. We would love for you to stay a while, even if you don’t have a houseboat. Thanks to our DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, you can do just that.
